Basic Configuration

The sensor configuration specifies how the data is coming into the system.

Assigned Device – The device that is currently polling the data. There can be any number of devices attached to a package this specifies the type of the device the data is being mapped to.

Data Group – Specifies the datagroup the data will be saved into. Multiple devices can save data into the same datagroups.

Attach to Poll Func – This allows the user to attach the sensor to the poll function.

Name – This is the sensor name that will be used throughout the system to identify this register

Sensor Tag Name – Optional field that allows user to specify an additional tag name

Register The register is device specific. Depending on the device you will need to know what the format of the registers are so the device driver understands it.

Data Type – Data Type is used by some drivers to determine how to translate the data

Read Write – This will determine whether the data is read only, read/write or write only.

Data FormulaData Formulas are used to convert data. They are used for both Cell Formulas and Polling.

Register Size – Used by some drivers to determine the size of the data in the register

Data Source – Specifies how the data is coming into the system.

Measurement Type – This specifies the type of measurement that the register is reading into the system.

Units – Units specifies the default unit of measure that the device reads by default

Aggregate – Only used when aggregate calculations are needed to combine data in a specific timespan.

Advanced Configuration

Alarms

Sensor Alarms – Allow the user to set an alarm for a specific sensor value

Communication Alarms – Allows the user to set an alarm for communication failures

Control

Sensor Control is needed for Write or Read/Write types of registers. It is device driver specific and the write function tells the device what command to use to write to the end device.
