The I/O pins on the back of the IPn4Gii can be configured to accept Digital Inputs or Analog Inputs.

In the WebUI of the IPn4Gii, go to the I/O Tab, and set the I/O Mode to “Input”.

To connect a Digital Input Sensor to I/O1, the sensor should be wired as follows:

Using Modbus, I/O1 can be polled by requesting Address 0 from Input Status (Function Code 2). To see the full Modbus Map for the IPn4Gii, refer to Page 125 of the IPn4Gii Operating Manual v1.5.3.
