How to setup ADAM (Modbus)

  1. Plug in the cable to the correct port.
    1. (Y) Data+ and (G) Data (modem) and RS485 cable to the laptop
    1. (R)+Vs and (B) GND 10 (Power)
  • With the module powered off, turn the switch in the “Init” position.
  • Power Up the module
  • Wait 10 seconds for the module to initialize.
  • Open the ADAM Software and check device manager on which COM port the Adam device is plugged in. Right click on the port and click search device and click Start
  • Once the device appears below the com port, click cancel.
  • Go Module Setting and change the setting to the following:
  • Double click on Adam device and click Data Area. Change the Input range to 4~20 mA
  • Update the settings by pressing the “Update” button.
  • Power off the module.
  • Turn the switch back to the NORMAL* position. (For the older Adam models, remove the wire between the INIT* and GND terminals)
  1. The module is now ready to be placed in the Modbus network.
  2. Setup the Modem (See Instructions on how to setup Modem)
  3. Add the device to Collect Live Data
  4. Go to the Adam and click Poll.
  5. Check the Status and confirm that it is communicating.
